Use Highlight Tool for Chrome (Extension)
We’re going to use a Chrome extension called Link to Text Fragment, which lets you easily highlight any text and share it selectively with a specific link. You can use it on any Chromium-based browsers without a hassle. This feature also comes in handy when you have a large document.
- Go to the Chrome Web Store and install the Link to Text Fragment extension.
- Click on Add extension when prompted at the top of the tab to give permission to install extension in Chrome.
- A new icon denoting the extension will appear in the extensions tab on the top right corner of the screen.
- Lastly, select any piece of text on any webpage and right-click to open the context menu. At the bottom, click on Copy Link to Selected Text option. This will create a shareable link to the specific text.
- You will also see a highlight preview (in yellow background). If you’re satisfied with the selected text, simply paste the link in any messaging, email, or social media app that you want to share it on. Get Link to Text Fragment
